              DRAMA SERVICES

The drama workshops are designed to provide a creative and therapeutic experience to be enjoyed by all and are not dependant on dramatic talent and performance skills. We like to work with people’s own abilities and interests to stimulate their imagination and creative skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.

How Drama May Help You:

• Develop positive communication skills
• Encourage co-operative sharing
• Develop teamwork skills
• Promote self-esteem and confidence
• Develop positive coping strategies
• Ideas, issues and problems are explored in a creative way
• Promote self-development and independence
• Discover new talents and abilities
• Access community resources and opportunities

In the drama workshops we empower people as the creator and explorer, generally running them in a group setting although one to one sessions can be arranged. During the workshops people are involved in a variety of activities such as games, mask work and performance.

        MUSIC AND CREATIVE SERVICES

With our music workshops we hope to enable individuals to develop their own ideas and help turn them into sound and vision, with an emphasis on fun and excitement. The inclusive workshops are not intimidating and are aimed at all levels, offering an insight into the way modern music is made, from recording to sampling and on to DJ’ing.

Using the music facilities at the Community Resource Centre our Music Co-ordinator works with clients in establishing their areas of interest and any other areas they may like to explore through music. While the music and creative services offer an organic, fun approach we hope to enable people to improve or learn a technical or musical ability.

We include a range of musical activities that are not only fun but hopefully aid people in developing more than just their musical and creative skills.

• Confidence building I.T. skills
• Introduction to music technology
• See a professional side to music
• Discover new social and musical environments
• Support with development of ideas, knowledge and communication
• Access and advice on equipment, further training and education
• Assistance with developing all aspects of a project and working with other professionals and groups, increasing people’s involvement in their local community and beyond.
